Principal’s Welcome

Kia ora koutou and Welcome to Te Raekura Redcliffs School

It is my privilege to be the principal of Te Raekura Redcliffs School. We are part of a vibrant and attractive community located by the sea in the east of Ōtautahi – Christchurch, New Zealand.

Our children and families love Te Raekura Redcliffs School and the exciting range of programmes and opportunities we offer. We provide a high-quality education for children from Years 1 to 8 (ages 5 to 13).

Te Raekura Redcliffs School has a proud history of serving our learning community since 1907. We have a strong connection with the land upon which our school stands and the stunning architectural design of our new school / kura is rich in cultural significance that reflects the gifted names from Ngāti Wheke and Ngai Tuahuriri.

We have been on our current site overlooking Te Ihutai – The Avon / Heathcote estuary since 2020, where our new school was built following the Christchurch Earthquakes of 2012.

We are forever grateful to previous leaders, staff, whānau and community who worked tirelessly to ensure our school has continued to be an amazing place with a thriving programme of learning for children from Year 1 to Year 8.

We invite you to enjoy our school’s stunning cultural narrative and explore the important stories of learning opportunities and success in our kura by navigating around our website or by visiting in person.

We look forward to welcoming you into our school.

Nau mai, haere mai
