Sport

Our detailed sporting information can be found at our Te Raekura Sports Website – our home for all permissions, entry and info about the wide variety of opportunities on our school’s sporting calendar.

Health, Physical Education and Sport are all important parts of our school programme and we believe that providing fun and quality sporting experiences is essential for our young people.

We aim to develop a number of important values through sport such as confidence, teamwork, fair play and a ‘give it a go’ attitude.

Te Raekura Redcliffs students are able to participate in a wide range of Summer and Winter sporting activities both at school and outside of school.

Students who perform well in our competitive school events are given the opportunity to represent our school in various ‘Zone’ competitions, where they will get an opportunity to qualify to compete in the Canterbury Primary Sports championships.

Our Yr 5-6 students take part in a winter sport programme at Hagley Park, competing against other primary school teams in hockey, netball and football.

Our Year 7-8 students focus on the Koru Games in Term 3 whilst competing across the year in various individual and team, sporting opportunities.
